IMS2021 Health & Safety Protocols:

The event management team is doing everything we can to make this the best show possible. We are committed to presenting a conference that addresses the health and safety considerations so essential in our current environment. Our IMS2021 venue in Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), was the first facility in the US to achieve the Global BioRisk Advisory Council’s GBAC StarTM Accreditation [1], which recognizes facilities that implement the industry's highest standards of cleaning for Covid-19. We are working closely with the GWCC, our partners, and event consultants to adhere to currently advised health and safety precautions.

We ask for your patience and to plan ahead so we can all meet in person. Thank you for your understanding as we work together to hold a safe and productive show. The following includes our current health and safety plans for the event in Atlanta. We recognize that this is a dynamic situation, and procedures will be adapted based on guidance at the time of the event.

General Procedures:

  • Attendee self assessment email in advance of event
  • Agreement to entry and health terms and conditions at badge pick up through registration system
  • At badge pick up, each person to receive a branded mask and hand sanitizer. Additional masks available throughout the convention center for attendee/exhibitor use.
  • No Contact Policy with signage reminding attendees throughout event of mandatory physical distancing and health and hygiene recommendations
  • Mask required at all times 
  • Integrated clear counter guards at registration and information locations
  • Regular disinfecting to sanitize all seating, restrooms, and frequently touched public areas
  • Floor decals to mandate social distancing
  • Medical personnel onsite and available to help individuals who are feeling unwell*
  • Daily temperature screenings*
  • GWCC has upgraded food and beverage protocols, including the addition of barriers and guards; food and beverages will be served by attendants or pre-packaged, all utensils are disposable. More information here.
  • To reduce touchpoints, GWCC has implemented touchless payment options for parking and food kiosks, including credit card, mobile payment solutions, and prepaid reservations
  • All food and beverage service and receptions are currently under evaluation for safest way to occur

In the Meeting Rooms:

  • Reduced room capacities to allow for social distance spacing between attendees
  • Wiping down high touch points (door handles, head table stage, stair rails) between each session
  • The use of electrostatic sprayers is part of the standard overnight cleaning regimen inside meeting rooms, ballrooms and auditoriums at the GWCC. 
  • Sanitizing wipes at the podium and gloves provided in every room for speaker use
  • Audio visual equipment such as keyboards, laser pointers and mice will be wiped down with sanitizer wipes between each session and also at regular intervals throughout the day
  • No lapel microphones will be used
  • Hand sanitizing stations 
  • Masks required at all times 
  • One way entry/exit points

In the Exhibition Hall:

  • Wider aisles to accommodate social distancing
  • Signage to remind attendees and exhibitors of mandatory social distancing and hygiene recommendations
  • Numerous networking areas with smaller seating areas and regular cleaning of hard surfaces
  • Hand sanitizing stations
  • Masks required at all times
  • Nightly deep cleaning of exhibition
  • Removal of aisle carpets to allow for better disinfection and cleaning*
  • Counting for adherence to maximum attendance limits in exhibit hall per current recommendations*
  • Exhibitors will have the option to order enhanced cleaning and disinfection services as well as hand sanitizing stations for their booths from Freeman [2]
  • Exhibitors will have the option to order clear dividers (with optional branding) to use on counters or bars in booth from Freeman [2]
