Antennas in ISAC for 5G and 6G, Challenges and Opportunities

This talk will delve into the pivotal role of antenna arrays in integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) for 5G and 6G systems. The antenna design greatly influences both sensing and communication capabilities. However, the requirements for parameters such as sidelobe level, beamwidth, scan volume, and beamforming vary considerably between sensing and communication, creating unique challenges for developing effective ISAC solutions. Both monostatic and bi-/multi-static systems will be addressed. Furthermore, additional RF and processing aspects related to sensing in ISAC will be discussed.
