Carbon Footprint and Energy Efficiency of D-Band Point-to-Point Radio Links
D-band wireless links are considered as the next step for high data-rate point-to-point links, for example connecting 5G and 6G base stations. Industrial prototypes are already in operation. The talk studies the carbon footprint of such links, with special emphasis on energy consumption. The results are benchmarked against an optical fiber connection and mm-wave links at lower frequencies.
