Sensing of Tissue Dielectric Properties in the Microwave Range for Diagnostic and Mapping Applications

The dielectric properties of biological tissues may be modified by disease type and state. Measurement and mapping of these properties, either in-vivo or from excised samples, can support detection of disease and mapping of diseased tissue regions. This presentation will discuss dielectric measurement approaches, data for key tissue types, and the role of classification algorithms in recent clinical applications.
