Progress in Control Electronics for Scalable Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing
In this presentation, I will give a general overview of trapped-ion quantum computing, focusing specifically on the needs for control electronics. We will go over noise mechanisms present in operations on trapped ions and cover how these inform the required performance of our control system. We will then focus on the efforts by various groups to integrate electronics into trapped-ion systems, which will include a discussion of the benefits and challenges of working at cryogenic temperatures.
