Microwave Engineering of Quantum Computers

We will explore the construction and operation of superconducting quantum computers from the perspective of microwave engineering. We will describe the properties of photons and qubits, focusing on microwave addressable qubits such as superconducting qubits. We detail how to use the tools and techniques of microwave engineering to understand and implement qubit readout, qubit control, and quantum limited amplification. We cover case studies on cryogenic microwave packaging of superconducting quantum devices and harmonic balance simulation of quantum limited amplifiers.
