Low-Loss, Flat-Passband, 6-31 GHz Tunable Magnetostatic Surface Wave Filter with Zero Static Power Consumption
This paper introduces a thin-film yttrium iron garnet (YIG) magnetostatic surface wave (MSSW) filter that achieves a low insertion loss of 2.2-5 dB, a flat and wide passband, and a continuous tuning range from 6 GHz to 31 GHz. A hexagonal YIG cavity together with half-cone-shaped tailored transducers are utilized to broaden the bandwidth and significantly suppress passband ripple. Additionally, a zero-static-power magnetic bias circuit is integrated to generate electrically tunable magnetic fields up to 1 Tesla, enabling the full tuning range with no DC power consumption.
