A Low-Power and Self-Interference-Tolerant Receiver for Shared-Aperture In-Band Full-Duplex Arrays

This paper proposes a low-power and self-interference-tolerant receiver for shared-aperture in-band full-duplex arrays. A transformer using an asymmetric center-tap configuration provides high common-mode rejection (CMR) and simultaneously enables noise and power matching of the low-noise amplifier (LNA) in differential mode. The receiver consists of a cascode LNA, a current-steering variable gain amplifier (VGA), and a 4-bit phase shifter. The receiver achieves a peak gain of 19.3 dB with a 3-dB bandwidth of 2.2 GHz (12.1–14.3 GHz), a noise figure (NF) of 3.4 dB, an input power 1-dB compression point (IP1dB) of –18 dBm, and an input third-order intercept point (IIP3) of –10 dBm, with only 14.5-mW DC power consumption. Furthermore, the transformer achieves over 40-dB CMR, enabling a blocker 1-dB compression point (B1dB) of 27 dBm. The core area of the receiver is 1.38 mm2.
