A Compact Circularly Polarized Integrated Feeder System for Next-Generation Q/V-Band Satellite Links
This paper introduces a novel design of a compact Q/V-band transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) satellite feeder system created for the next generation of high-capacity communication links, with experimental validation. The proposed setup integrates a compact coupler, a superior diplexer, and a featured orthomode transducer (OMT) into a compact unit. This design efficiently separates and combines the Tx and Rx channels while ensuring low insertion loss, high isolation, and enhanced circular polarization purity throughout the operating range of 37.5–42 GHz (Tx) and 47.2–52.4 GHz (Rx). The experimental results show a return loss of 19 dB for both bands, a rejection level of 80 dB, and axial ratios of 1 dB (Tx) and 1.5 dB (Rx). These findings confirm the effectiveness of the feeder for high-frequency satellite communication systems.
