Compact, Video-Rate, Photonically-Enabled, Millimeter Wave Imaging Sensor featuring Scalable Architecture
This paper presents the performance and design approach of a 64-channel, dense array, passive W-band imaging sensor based on an optical up-conversion technique. The system demonstrates a significant reduction in cost, size, weight and power, while maintaining sensitivity. Furthermore, the system outlined here is scalable to significantly larger array sizes through stacking 64-channel sub-arrays without sacrificing full array gain.
