Can Wireless Interfacing Address the Qubit Upscaling Challenge?

One of the primary challenges hindering the upscaling of current quantum computing (QC) systems to several hundred or even thousand qubits lie in the task of addressing and controlling circuits. Yet, this ambitious goal remains elusive within the confines of current QC architectures and technologies. A promising alternative emerges through the integration of wireless technology into QC systems. Notably, research efforts have sprouted across Europe and the United States, with three distinct groups exploring this novel approach. In this presentation, I will discuss the benefits and potential obstacles associated with leveraging wireless techniques for qubit manipulation.
