Realization of passive microwave components exploiting available 3D flexibility

The talk provides an overview of recent developments in microwave components realization leveraging additive and hybrid fabrication technologies. Exploitation of available three-dimensional geometry flexibility in 3D printing technology is presented and discussed towards the realization of low-cost, lightweight, highly integrated, and high-performance passive microwave components for the next generation of radio communication systems. Prominent fabrication technologies are briefly covered and discussed. Exemplary components such us directional couplers, filters, and inter-guide transitions are showcased from the design to experimental results implemented in laminate and/or additive technologies
