Short-End Half-Wavelength Four-Sections Coaxial Stepped Impedance Resonators for Tx Space Bandpass Filter

This communication focuses on short-end half-wavelength four-section coaxial stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) for the design of Tx bandpass filters for space applications. This resonator, built on two levels, is dielectric less. It is used to design a 4th-order L-band filter, whose performance in terms of size, insertion loss and multipactor threshold is compared with the state of the art. The filter was fabricated in aluminum and experimental data are presented.
