Comparative Study: Evaluating Chipless RFID Tag Authenticity with a Portable MIMO Reader-Based Approach
In the rapidly evolving world of chipless Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), the challenge of evaluating tag authenticity and combating counterfeit products necessitates innovative solutions. This comparative study introduces an innovative chipless tag detection technique using a portable Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) reader-based approach. Uniquely designed to eliminate complex calibration, the method identifies frequency notches with an accuracy rate of 99.80% and a standard deviation of 0.21%, in real-world testing. This novel approach is instrumental in detecting counterfeit tags, enhancing the integrity and security of RFID systems. The affordability and portability of the reader positions this method as a significant advancement in providing accessible tools for authenticity verification. By aligning accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and practicality, this study paves the way for robust authentication mechanisms in chipless RFID technology, offering an economically sound alternative to conventional, expensive readers such as Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
