Integrated Distributed Equivalent Circuit Model of PCIe 5.0 Connector with AIC and Baseboard Loading Resonances for Fast SI Diagnosis
This work reports on the development of a fast signal integrity (SI) diagnosis tool for a PCIe 5.0 connector based on distributed physical-based transmission line (dPBTL) circuit model. Loading resonances due to add-in card (AIC) and baseboard (BB) are diagnosed in field analysis and transformed into dPBTL subcircuit models. The integrated dPBTL model accurately predicts differential-mode performances and resonances up to 64 GHz, reducing simulation time by 1000× and enabling fast SI diagnoses and cycle-time for product design.
