Simplifying Polarization Alignment in Modulated Antenna Measurements

This article concerns simplifying the over-the-air (OTA) measurement setup and process for determining the radiated properties of an antenna under test (AUT) under wideband modulation conditions. By probing two orthogonally polarized planes and coherent processing, mechanical alignment of the polarization planes of AUT and probe are eliminated. This greatly simplifies the mechanical design of the measurement apparatus and eliminates uncertainty associated with polarization alignment.
