Programmable Multi-Functional Microwave Photonic Circuit in the Thin-Film Lithium Niobate Platform
We present a programmable microwave photonic (MWP) processor implemented on a thin-film lithium niobate platform, seamlessly integrating an on-chip modulator with cascaded tunable rings. This MWP processor achieves exceptional performance metrics, including a notch filtering capability with a rejection ratio exceeding 80 dB, a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of over 110 dB in 1 Hz, a link gain of -7.2 dB, and wide tunability from 1.5 GHz to 21.5 GHz. Additionally, it can be reconfigured for dual-band notch filtering. Leveraging stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) within a spiral waveguide on the same platform, we also demonstrate a notch/bandpass filter at 15 GHz with a quality factor exceeding 600.
