Transformer-based mm-wave PA design in CMOS, InP and GaAs
This talk will discuss several mm-Wave PAs, implemented and measured in 16nm FF, Bulk CMOS, InP and GaAs. The common-theme will be on the use of transformers to reduce the area, to lower matching-losses and to achieve high-bandwidth. Design techniques and pitfalls, such as transformer imbalance, CM stability and dummy-filling, will be discussed for each design. In this way, the participants will get a broad overview of the good practices and risks when designing mm-wave PAs in these technologies.
