RPRS: Real-time Privacy mm-Wave Radar Sensing System

Fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) enables computations on encrypted data, thereby reducing privacy risks when uploading sensitive radar-detected information to untrusted servers. However, the significant performance overhead severely limits the practical use of FHE. In this paper, we present RPRS, a Real-time Privacy-preserving Radar Sensing system. The RPRS system consists of a radar sensing client, FHE servers and network connections between them. We prototype the RPRS with a radar client for precise air-handwritten trajectory detection, and FHE servers for secure CNN inferences. System tests reveal that the client-server round-trip latency is 1.34 seconds for a real-time radar-based FHE CNN task.
