LMBA: Ideal Candidate for FR3 PAs?

The introduction of the Load Modulated Balanced Amplifier (LMBA) 10 years ago has opened a whole new track of research in power amplifier architectures, thanks to the flexibility of the concept and the potential for broadband or frequency agile operation. This talk will review some of basics of LMBA, and discuss the variants that look the most promising in an FR3 context. Real design examples in GaN technology will be discussed in detail.
