Circuit, Antenna and Package Design Challenges for D-Band Radar Design

In this talk we will discuss challenges in designing a D-Band radar for consumer and automotive applications. First, we will address: what is the optimal frequency for LO signal generation (VCO fundamental frequency)? Then, where to place the frequency multiplier along the LO distribution chain? How to co-design antenna and PA output? Electromagnetic modeling of the package and chip. Realization of on-chip antennas and in-package antennas. Several D-Band radar products will be discussed.
