A Fully Integrated RFIC for Very High Throughput Hybrid Beamforming Applications Including DPD

This workshop presentation reviews a highly integrated wideband direct conversion transceiver with a fully integrated synthesizer. It includes 32 elements in an 8T8R configuration for hybrid beamforming applications in an integrated FCCSP package that fits in required antenna lattice spacing. It supports a full 16× 100MHz RF bandwidth across the 5GNR n257, n258 and n261 bands. Support for Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) is provided via a Transmit Observation Receiver (TOR), feedback for joint Tx/Rx Frequency Dependent IQ (FDIQ) offset calibration and state machines to minimize LO Feed Through (LOFT) and provide Rx DC offset correction. The IC includes a low phase noise synthesizer with phase track capability to help align phases of multiple ICs on the radio.
