Integrating sensing functionality in mobile communication networks

Integrated Sensing and Communication is a 6G technology candidate with potential to be realized already in later versions of 5G. We believe that sharing sites, spectrum and hardware are the most important integration steps. Even deeper integration uses the same waveform for sensing and communication and reuses communication signals for sensing. This talk will address important aspects and challenges when integrating mono-/bi-/multi-static sensing functionality in mobile communication networks with focus on beamforming, radio RF performance, signal processing, synchronization, interference, clutter, clutter suppression and the impact by the 3GPP radio frame.
