Vector Single-Source SIE Formulation for Scattering Analysis of Multilayered Object

A novel single-source surface integral equation (SS-SIE) is derived to solve the scattering problems induced by fully embedded objects with transverse electric (TE) polarized waves. The Schelkunoff's equivalence theorem rather than the Love's equivalence theorem is iteratively applied from the innermost to outermost boundaries, and the final equivalent model with only electric current densities is generated. In addition, unknowns at each boundary are not required to be simultaneously solved and are transferred to the outermost boundary layer by layer. Therefore, the dimension of matrix equations is much smaller than that of the traditional PMCHWT formulation. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed formulation.
