Efficient mm-Wave Phased Array Building Blocks in Silicon Technology
In this talk, we will discuss the general challenges in implementing mm-wave phased arrays, and present solutions to address some of these challenges. This will include efficient power amplifier designs that are able to provide multi-watt output power with high efficiencies in SiGe technology. We will also introduce methods for enhanced linearity, and present power amplifier designs with low distortion and high efficiency. We will discuss phase shifter designs that are optimized in terms of area efficiency and linearity. Further, we will introduce bi-directional active phase shifter designs. Finally, we will discuss challenges of implementing phased arrays >100GHz.
