Monolithic Integration of Indium Phosphide Integrated Circuits on Silicon Carbide/Silicon for Broadband Photonics-Based THz Communications

Photonics technology offers outstanding broadband and low-noise performance in the generation, modulation, and detection of THz waves, driving significant advances in sensing and communication systems. This talk introduces recent progress in integrating photonic and electronic THz devices onto SiC and Si substrate platforms by using epi-layer transfer technology, aiming to enhance photodiode output power and detector sensitivity. We will also showcase practical implementations in both wireless and wired communication systems operating in the 300GHz band.
