I AM...a Professor
What made you want to work in this industry?
My interest in microwave engineering started during my PhD, when I was working on filters for mobile communication. I found it fascinating to understand the underlying technology and how such components enable reliable communication in our daily lives. This combination of scientific challenge and practical relevance sparked my motivation to continue working in this field.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is the opportunity to work with young researchers and contribute to their academic and personal development. I also highly value the variety of responsibilities – ranging from developing long-term strategies for my institute to engaging in detailed discussions with PhD students. Furthermore, the possibility to participate in international conferences and exchange ideas with leading experts is an inspiring and rewarding aspect of my work.
What are you most excited about for IMS2026?
What excites me most about IMS2026 is the diversity of topics and activities – ranging from the Student Design Competitions to inspiring social events such as Women in Microwaves. As Workshops Co-Chair, I am of course particularly looking forward to the workshop program, which will provide a unique platform for in-depth discussions and knowledge exchange.
