Quantum Bootcamp

This course will provide an introduction to the basics of quantum engineering, targeting microwave engineers who want to understand how they can make an impact in this emerging field. The intended audience includes new engineers, engineers who may be changing their career path, marketing and sales professionals seeking a better understanding of quantum technology, as well as current university students looking to learn more about the practical aspects of Quantum technology. The format of the Quantum Boot Camp is like that of a short course, with speakers covering quantum engineering basics with a focus on the control and measurement of quantum systems and will conclude with a hands-on introduction to the design of superconducting qubits using modern microwave CAD tools. The fee includes a morning refreshment break and a lunch.

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) Bootcamp

As our world and economy become increasingly digital, the density of wireless devices per square kilometer has reached astonishing levels. Predictions suggest that a single square kilometer could soon host up to 10 million devices, creating substantial environmental and economic sustainability challenges. Fortunately, wireless power technologies (WPT) present a promising solution. By enabling wireless energy delivery to devices, WPT eliminates the reliance on batteries, which not only reduces the environmental footprint and conserves raw materials but also lowers costs by eliminating the need for frequent battery replacements. Embracing WPT could pave the way for a more sustainable and efficient future. The upcoming WPT boot camp will introduce participants to wireless power transfer for electronic devices, helping to accelerate the digitalization of both society and the economy. The program will explore two distinct WPT technologies: near-field transfer, which is already utilized in wireless charging and the emerging near-field communication charging, and far-field wireless power transfer, which is gradually being adopted in the market. These technologies use different methods to transmit power. The boot camp will provide comprehensive insights into both, with academic experts covering the foundational concepts and design principles, while industry professionals will discuss various business applications and standards. This WPT boot camp is tailored for engineers seeking to learn the basics of wireless power transfer or apply it to their work, marketing and sales professionals aiming to grasp WPT technologies, and university students interested in gaining foundational knowledge in the field. The course offers ample opportunities for participant engagement and interaction. The fee includes a lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break.

Phased Array Bootcamp

The Phased‑Array Boot Camp is new for 2026 and designed for RF, microwave and millimeter‑wave engineers. The session concentrates on how the analog waveforms generated by array antennas are captured, digitized and processed in today’s digital world. Rather than immersing participants in heavy mathematics, the boot camp offers an intuitive, system‑level view of the techniques that underpin modern beam control, including beam shaping, beam spoiling, null steering, interference mitigation and direction‑of‑arrival estimation. The fee includes a lunch, and an morning refreshment break.

AI/ML Bootcamp

This course will present the basics of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) for microwaves. The course is targeted to general audiences in the microwave community who are not necessarily experts in AI/ML and want to learn the basics of AI/ML. This includes engineers that are interested in using AI/ML for microwave applications, marketing and sales professionals who are interested in understanding the basics and relevance of AI/ML for microwaves, and university students who like to acquire the basic knowledge of AI/ML. The course will provide ample opportunities for audience interaction and Q&A. The fee includes a morning refreshment break, lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break.

RF Bootcamp

This course will cover real-world, practical, modern design and engineering fundamentals needed by technicians, new engineers, engineers wanting a refresh, college students, as well marketing and sales professionals. Experts within industry and academia will share their knowledge of RF/Microwave systems basics, simulation and network design, network and spectrum analysis, and microwave antenna and radar basics. Attendees completing the course will earn two IEEE CEUs. The fee includes a morning refreshment break, lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break.

Industry Workshops

Industry Workshops are 100 minute exhibitor-led presentations on in-depth technical topics in a workshop format off the exhibit floor. Industry Workshops offer practical training in areas that allow attendees to make immediate use of the materials presented. This year, IMS is offering Industry Workshops covering a wide range of relevant topics.
