Vadim Issakov, Full Professor, Institute for CMOS Design, Technische Universität Braunschweig
I AM ... here to learn and get inspired!
What made you want to work in this industry?
In my undergraduate studies, I had the privilege to attend a great lecture about Microwave Engineering based on the textbook by David Pozar. It made me really excited about microwave engineering, transmission lines, waveguides, filters, S-parameters, RF systems and much more, such that I was thirsty to learn more. Hence, I decided to continue my studies in this field and carried on with graduate studies in Microwave Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. This was still not enough and I wanted to learn more about RF circuit design. Thus, I continued towards PhD in microwave circuits for radar applications. Ever since, I am driven by the excitement of learning new things in the field of microwave engineering and RF circuit design.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Finding interesting solutions to solve technical problems. If there is anything, which is relevant in certain application, I am very happy if there is a circuit-level or system-level solution to this.
What are you most excited about for IMS2025?
Attending workshops and technical sessions. Talking to peers, meeting old friends and making new friends. Exchange ideas and maybe start some new collaborations.
